Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury took to Instagram yesterday, to thank his fans and reveal that an official announcement of the much anticipated fight between himself and Deontay Wilder is edging ever closer.
Another social media post showed Fury enjoying a training session outside in Morecambe Bay, where he mocked his rival for using the “Bronze Bomber” moniker, labelling the American a “third-place bum”.
A few weeks ago, US broadcaster Showtime confirmed the fight had been agreed although it’s still unclear exactly when and where it would happen. A few November dates have been spoken about, but as of writing nothing appears to be penned just yet.
Call us sceptical, but we’re a little concerned of a hold up, despite negotiations appearing to be relatively easy. If it can be made, it would surely be one of boxing’s biggest events this year.
