Amir Khan was knocked down in the 2nd round, and caught on numerous occasions in the fight with Samuel Vargas.

The British welterweight was pushed the distance, winning a wide unanimous decision in an unconvincing performance.

Khan started fast, dropping the Colombian in round 2, only to hit the mat himself at the end of the round after a thunderous overhand right from Vargas had him hurt once more.  Khan responded by flooring Vargas again in the next, and controlled most of the fight at range with the occasional burst of fast combinations.

Pre-fight underdog Vargas was full of belief throughout, and opened the former champion up with power shots several times during the bout.

Khan eventually prevailed with scorecards of 119-108, 119-109, 118-110 in his favour.
