It’s been announced today that FOX Sports have signed a new 4-year agreement with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), making them the leading broadcaster for PBC’s championship fights.
With the deal, the FOX broadcast network will feature 10 marquee prime time fight nights each year. FS1 and FOX Deportes will additionally telecast 12 shows annually. The package includes FOX Sports-PBC Pay-Per-View events.
A hefty $50 million investment is rumoured to be part of the package, which would help promote PBC’s shows to a wider audience.
“We are pleased to continue with FOX Sports to showcase our unrivaled roster of more than 160 of the best boxers in the world, including 60 current and former world champions in the weight divisions that most excite the fans,” says Tim Smith, Vice President of Communications for Haymon Sports. “The PBC on FOX will bring the fans the best boxing and bring our boxers and the sponsors the biggest audience as we continue to pursue the goal of returning this great sport to mainstream prominence.”
PBC also recently revealed a new 3-year deal with Showtime, extending their long term partnership with plans to showcase an even larger schedule in 2019, including live boxing from virtually every level of the sport—prospects and contenders, to world championship bouts, world title unifications and pay-per-view tent pole attractions.
The currently flourishing promotional outfit has an attractive roster of fighters featuring the likes of Deontay Wilder, Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter among others.
